The Laguna de Hule is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful lagoons in the country and the wildlife refuge where one of the places with high tourism potencial is located, both for its scenic beauty and for the abundance and biological diversity present in the forest that surrounds it. The tourists who arrives for the first time at the viewpoint, when the sun shines, is stunned by so much beauty gathered in a sector still unknown to most Costa Ricans.
Laguna de Hule is located within the National Wildlife Refuge Bosque Alegre and has a humid climate, with a wide forest cover, with up to 170 species of birds identified, as well as a large number of mammals. To get there you must access the Bosque Alegre viewpoint, and from there descend 500 meters to the base of the lagoon, a journey of 30 minutes to one hour. The lagoon is perfect for a energizing swim and the water is surprisingly warm.
