  • The Parque Nacional Cahuita is located in the province of Limón, Caribbean coast, 42 km south of the city of Limón. This Park has 23,290 hectares of marine coverage and 1,102 terrestrial hectares. In this territory there is a set of ecological systems such as coral reefs, which due to their structure and diversity, are considered the most developed in the Costa Rican Caribbean. Associated with this system, a great diversity of flora and fauna species has been developed. On land there are mangrove patches, flooded, to which numerous species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds are associated. There is only one beach suitable for swimming. The southern beach is a protected nesting site for sea turtles. Other beaches have strong currents that make swimming unsafe. Visitors can enter the beach of Sendero Punta Cahuita. Sunbathing is also a popular activity. There are not many places in the world where you can sunbathe near almond trees on the beach. You can swim and hike discovering nature along the path, snorkeling on the marine trail, listening to the sounds of nature, tanning, soccer or beach volleyball, performing different exercises on the beach and non-profit artistic and cultural events that have the backing of the Park administration.
