  • In the 23 hectares of Parque Ambiental Río Loro, recovering ecosystems and the water resources of the Cartago Canton are protected. It offers a different space in which the visitor can enjoy pure air, sounds of nature and a quit environment to learn and share.  One of the new attractions of the park, is a new 10 meters high lookout, with capacity for 6 people, it is made up of a spiral staircase that culminates with a large space at the top where the visitor can see from another perspective the flora of the park, also allows panoramic view of the place. The park has approximately 2300 meters on trails, where we can highlight the 750 meters Universal trail, a suitable path with ramps, bridges and trails, which allow better access for people. You can also enjoy and know the butterfly garden, plants module medicinal, vermiculture and soon a serpentarium. The Parque Ambiental Río Loro is a recommended destination to be in direct contact with nature, since through its 6 trails you can cross the forest and observe its varied vegetation with trees reaching up to a height of 60 meters. Its paths are very friendly and suitable for anyone, without any difficulty. Among fauna that is inside the forest the snakes like the Lora Boa, Bécquer, Coral, and others; raccoons, coyotes, sloths, and a butterfly house with more than 7 species and approximately 200 types of birds. The park is perfect for a family day out as it has a recreation area with a small soccer and basketball field and playground for children under 12 years old with swings and slides.
